| Berit has been included in this prestigious publication,
which will be registered at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., because she has
reached a level of recognizable success in the field of practicing and teaching body and
energytherapies. Berit Nilsson began professionally as a foot Reflexologist in 1975, and
soon became a licensed Massage Therapist and a Registered Polarity Practitioner. Since
that time she has studied a wide variety of techniques, including Gestalt, Reiki,
Myofascial, and Jin Shin Jyutsu. She has consistently worked to build her successful
practice, providing massage, reflexology, and energy therapies, including Energy Release
Somatic Therapy which she developed as a synergistic combination of all the modalities she
has learned over her many years of study. She is founder and director of the Reflexology
Science Institute, a state approved proprietary school that offers Reflexology for
Certification and other courses. Berit was instrumental in creating the Universal Light
Expo and has held offices in the Reflexology Association of America, the Ohio
Association of Reflexologists, and the American Polarity Therapy Association. It is a much
deserved honor for her to be included in the 2000 edition of National Register’s
