| Reiki is a centuries old technique that activates and enhances the life force by clearing the energy pathways of the body. It is a simple, precise, hands-on, non- invasive body therapy that relaxes and centers the body, and stimulates the immune system. By treating the individual on all levels body, spirit, mind, emotions Reiki deals with the cause of disease, and thereby eliminates its effects. Reiki works alone and it also maximizes other therapies. It is easy to learn and easy to use. Prior knowledge and experience are not prerequisite for success. | ||
| In the 1800s, Dr. Mikao Usui, president of a Christian school in Kyoto, Japan, rediscovered the Reiki principles in ancient Buddhist sutras. These Sanskrit formulas, lost in practice for over 2500 years, became the impetus for his lifelong mission to explore and propagate the healing powers. Before the event of his death, he passed the Reiki torch to Dr. Chujiro Hayashi who opened a clinic in Japan specializing in natural healing arts in lieu of medications or surgical procedures. There, Dr. Hayashi initiated a former patient, Hawayo Takata, who became instrumental in expanding Reiki practice around the world. | ||
| Level I begins a personal transformation in this ancient art. Through the use of symbols, the Reiki Master provides attunements in four separate ceremonies with each student. At this level, the student learns and practices the beneficial hand positions for treating self and others, as well as interesting details about Reiki history. | ||
| Level II continues personal growth and awareness. The student receives a series of universal symbols which, when activated with attunements, evoke energies to treat emotional and mental problems, physical imbalances, and absent clients. | ||
| Level III deepens and refines personal awareness and practice through long-term apprenticeship. The path of mastery is individually designed. | ||

| Her involvement in the healing arts began with standard medical nursing. She firmly believes in the tenet that a good teacher is also a student and has studied with numerous master healers and teachers in a variety of disciplines. Alice Anns deep knowledge of Reiki comes through direct lineage from Hawayo Takata via Takatas first Occidental student, Master Virginia Samdahl. Her internship with Virginia extended over several years and involved a unique depth of study and reflection. The power of Alice Anns energy flow is a result of her many years of directed practice. | ||
